Mad Men Music

I recently just finished Mad Men and though I didn’t really know what to expect other than seeing Jon Hamm. It takes place in the 1960s and 1970s and focuses on an advertising company and one particular man, Don Draper (Jon Hamm). Obviously because of the time in which it take place, there is some serious discrimination and harassment that is present throughout the series. Needless to say that my liberal female self was pretty angry while watching it – but that didn’t take away from my opinion of it. This definitely isn’t a show for you if you’re used to climatic plots but it really is a testament to the times – especially for us who were not alive during those times.

Orange is the New Black Soundtrack

Orange is the New Black is another one of Netflix’s hit original series. It focuses on one privileged woman’s unfortunate journey to prison after getting involved with her ex-girlfriend’s criminal past. The show focuses on a few other characters and how they ended up in prison. One thing I really appreciate about Orange is the New Black is the diversity of women within it and how authentically they portray their characters. Though I didn’t expect it, Orange is the New Black has really great music for the subject matter being about prison.

Gossip Girl Music

Gossip Girl… oh Gossip Girl… I didn’t start watching this show well until after it was over – like three years until after it was over. This was mostly due to the fact that I was ten years old when it first aired and my older sister, who watched it religiously, threw a pillow at my head whilst yelling “You’re too young to watch Gossip Girl” as I tried to sneak in her room every time I tried to watch it. But that’s the beauty of Netflix.

Chewing Gum Soundtrack

Chewing Gum, as you can probably tell by the title, is a comedy television show staring the great Michaela Coel. To be quite honest I didn’t know who she was until I watched this show but since watching it - it’s like she’s everywhere I look. Since staring in Chewing Gum, which is produced by Netflix, she has appeared in both Black Mirror and the new Star Wars: The Last Jedi. But I say all this because it shows just how good the show is!
