Stranger Things Soundtrack

This sci-fi drama is one of the most talked about shows of the moment not only because of the cute eleven year-old actors but because of the era in which it takes place. The show centers around three boys and their supernatural friend that try to help after their friend goes missing mysteriously in the 80s.

Because of the time period, many of the songs featured are from the late 70s and early 80s, which can be very new for an audience that is not familiar with this era. Some of the artists featured on the show include The Clash, Joy Division, New Order, The Romantics, Duran Duran, Queen, Bon Jovi, The Runaways, Donna Summer, and The Police.

In fact, the first season of the show centers around one particular song, The Clash's "Should I Stay or Should I Go" which came out in 1982. Will, the boy that goes missing, is introduced to the song by his older brother and makes appearances throughout to serve as a reminder of Will's disappearance.

The Netflix original just released its 2nd season in October of 2017 but is currently working on the 3rd season, which is sure to include some more 80s throwbacks.
